Introduction: When the Night Speaks

Every night, while the world sleeps, God is speaking.

He spoke to Jacob through a dream and transformed a fugitive into a patriarch with a covenant and a destiny. He spoke to Joseph and turned a despised teenager into the second most powerful man in Egypt. He spoke to Solomon in the night and granted him wisdom that shaped a generation.

God has not stopped speaking through the night. He is simply looking for people who are listening.

Perhaps you have been troubled by what you see when you sleep. Perhaps you sense that something is being communicated to you in the night but you do not know how to receive it, interpret it, or act on it. Or perhaps you have never been taught that the hours of sleep are not empty, that your spirit remains alive and active while your body rests, and that God can meet you there as surely as He meets you in prayer.

This is not a guide to mysticism or superstition. It is a call to biblical maturity—grounded in Scripture, shaped by personal encounter, and anchored in the authority of Jesus Christ.

How This Book Began

I did not set out to write a book about dreams. I set out to understand why God had been speaking through my nights for years—and why I had been largely deaf to what He was saying.

There was a season when I began to notice dreams that felt too specific to be coincidence, encounters that carried a weight I could not easily shake, and warnings that later proved remarkably precise. I began to realise I was receiving something—and, not knowing how to hold it, I was dropping most of it.

But it was loss that truly awakened me. Over a period of time, I saw my mother die in my dreams—repeatedly, consistently, with a weight I now recognise as a spiritual burden I was not yet equipped to carry. I did not know then what I know now. I did not pray. I did not seek counsel. I did not rise in intercession. And one day, the dream that had visited me in the night became the grief I was living in the day.

I do not tell this story to wound anyone. I tell it because it became the crucible of my calling. That loss drove me to the Scriptures with a desperation I had never known before. I began to see that the tragedy was not that God had been silent, but that I had not been listening.

A Word of Caution

The subject of dreams has been misused. Some have built entire ministries on sensational narratives, using the language of prophecy and spiritual encounter to manipulate, impress, or control others. This book is not that.

Every experience described in these pages must be tested against the Word of God. No dream—however vivid or emotionally compelling—carries the same authority as Scripture. Dreams may confirm, illuminate, or direct, but they must never be allowed to contradict the written Word.

Interpretation also requires humility. We see in part. We know in part. Hold what you receive with open hands. Test everything. Be willing to be wrong. And keep your eyes fixed on Jesus—the Lord of the day and the Lord of the night.
